The department of Medicine, division of Infectious Diseases has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Research Associate 2 to work on the UHealth campus. The Research Associate 2 supports research activities under the direction of a principle investigator, program director or designee of the principle investigator or program director.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Strong clinical research data management skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Ability to maintain and update study records and databases.
Ability to respond to data queries in a timely manner.
Ability to record procedures and results in participant binders and databases per study protocols.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards.
Ability to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of clinical research data.
Ability to conduct quality control checks on clinical research data.
Ability to perform basic descriptive analysis of clinical research data where appropriate.
Ability to generate reports and present data to investigators for continuing reviews or other progress reports as needed.
Participation in the development of data collection instruments for study protocols and other research documents and operations.
Participates in training sessions and workshops.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Works under the supervision of the research manager for the above and other duties as assigned.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
Performs specialized and complex experiments/studies.
Participates in the publication of significant research results.
Advances expertise through education, training, and research.
Writes extramural grants/proposals to gain support when appropriate.
Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens and tissue cultures.
Weighs and anesthetizes laboratory animals for experiments.
Operates sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.
Performs calculations to complete research test results.
Performs photography and dark room processing.
Participates in training sessions and workshops.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience

Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
