Carnival Cruise Line Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist in Miami, Florida

Job Description

The Senior AP Specialist is responsible for the accurate input of payment data from supplier invoices into Oracle R12 AP module via the Kofax/MarkView imaging and workflow system; matching to Purchase Orders when applicable, and ensuring timely payments to suppliers. This includes correctly matching invoice to purchase order and confirming freight terms on the purchase order, before processing freight. A good understanding of the overall A/P process is required. The position will be assigned as Pre-Approved, PO or Non-PO processors but can be expected to assist across responsibilities when deemed necessary by management.

Essential Functions:

  • Review Manual Wire entries.

  • Review Markview and/or Oracle AP control reports. Follow up with business on invoices aged over 30 days on a weekly basis.

  • Maintain the Prepayment account and reconcile monthly.

  • Assist with Daily Transfer to GL/Month End Process/Month End reconciliations and variance reporting.

  • Work Special Projects/Audit requests.

  • Set up and renew recurring invoices.

  • Work Markview Review Queues. Assist AP specialists with Markview queues to be within SLA.

  • Prepare Daily Assignments.

  • Assist with Suppliers Outstanding Invoices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent amount of work experience

  • 2+ years of related experience required

  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable or other related Accounting Experience preferred

  • Experience with Oracle preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent understanding of the overall Accounts Payable process is required.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional business presence.

Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

Travel: No Travel

Work Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.

The range for this role’s base salary is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour. Offers to selected candidates will be made on a fair and equitable basis, taking into account specific job-related skills and experience.
