Dayton Superior Corporation Quality Engineering Manager in Miamisburg, Ohio
This position is responsible for implementation and use of Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) and Six Sigma practices at specific sites. The Quality Engineering Manager will also develop, maintain and upgrade company Quality Manuals and databases relating to Quality documentation. Develop standards for inspection, test and evaluation methods. Manages the Quality Team and other functions as necessary. * Identify areas/disciplines within the corporation where the application of Six Sigma practices would have a significant positive impact. * Facilitate implementation and use of RCCA/Six Sigma practices at specific sites. * Develop appropriate corporate Quality metrics and implement tracking mechanisms. * Investigates product complaints and reasons for product application failure. * Develop, maintain and upgrade Quality Manual, Operator Inspection Instructions, Quality Technician Procedures, Quality Plans, Product/Process Procedures relating to Quality requirements and related documentation/instructions. * Develop, maintain and upgrade databases relating to Quality documentation. * Confers with R&D to conduct analysis, interpret test results and develop standard test procedures for products. * Develop, maintain and upgrade standards for inspection, test and evaluation methods. * Develop, maintain and upgrade corporate Quality Goals and Objectives. * Assist in Continuous Improvement/Lean projects as required. * Manage and Develop Quality Team Members such including: Quality Technicians, Quality Supervisors, Quality Engineers, and other functions as required. Ability to win buy-in from people that you have no authority over is critical to success. * Skill and ability to interpret Engineering Drawings, Specifications regarding manufacturing/fabrication areas. * Ability to supervise employees. * Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time. * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering * Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt Preferred * Minimum 5 Years of experience working in a manufacturing environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by and employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
