Join our team! As a Systems Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify and improve cutting edge products and services. You'll be developing complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms, ushering them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product lifecycle.
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Avionics) to lead the design, integration, and testing of advanced avionics systems for the program. This role requires expertise in developing system architectures and V&V processes , ensuring avionics components are seamlessly integrated into the aircraft’s critical systems. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Architect Avionics Systems : Develop and manage avionics system architectures from concept through detailed design.
Manage System Integration : Ensure smooth integration of avionics with other aircraft systems such as communications, navigation, and electrical systems.
Lead Requirements Management : Parse, derive, and allocate avionics system requirements using tools like DOORS and Rhapsody.
Conduct Risk Assessments : Identify risks and create strategies to mitigate potential impacts on system performance and safety.
Perform Verification & Validation (V&V) : Ensure avionics systems meet both technical and regulatory standards.
Support Certification Efforts : Oversee avionics system certification in compliance with FAA and DoD standards.
Collaborate Across Teams : Work closely with engineers, program managers, and stakeholders to meet all program milestones.
Who You Are
We are looking for a talented engineer with a deep understanding of avionics systems and the ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex challenges.
Must-haves:
Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Preferred:
Advanced Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, MATLAB
Knowledge of industry standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to requirements management, Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)
Experience or certification in INCOSE standards
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures
Thorough understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
