We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Facilities Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our life sciences manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for the management and optimization of all facility processes at the location in Middelburg, including hard and soft services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, preferably within the life sciences sector, exceptional client management skills, and the ability to lead a team. This role requires a proactive approach to meet the high expectations of our client while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Operations Management : Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including maintenance, safety, security, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
Client Relationship Management : Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring that their needs and expectations are met. Build and maintain a strong, trust-based relationship with the client through regular communication and performance reporting.
Team Leadership : Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of facilities staff, addressing individual needs and fostering a positive team culture. Manage performance and resolve conflicts effectively.
Budget Management : Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of service and compliance.
Project Management : Plan and execute facility improvement projects, including renovations and upgrades, while minimizing disruption to operations.
Safety and Compliance : Ensure that the facility adheres to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and inspections to maintain compliance.
Vendor Management : Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure quality service delivery and adherence to contractual obligations.
Crisis Management : Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies, ensuring the safety and continuity of operations.
Reporting and Analysis : Prepare and present regular reports on facility performance, budget status, and client satisfaction to senior management.
What do you have to offer?
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities management, with preferably at least 3 years in a life sciences manufacturing environment.
Proven experience managing clients with a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction.
Excellent leadership skills with a track record of managing diverse teams.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in facilities management software and tools.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Fluent in Dutch and English, both written and verbally.
