Description Robert Half is looking to find a talented, efficient Staff Accountant to join an esteemed organization in the CPA Firm - Other industry. The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Middleton, Wisconsin area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.
Responsibilities
Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
ERP system experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Financial statement preparation experience
Experience with Accounting Functions
Tax Audits experience desired
Command of Tax Preparation
Proficiency in tax law
