Overview
South Mountain Creamery is a family-owned dairy farm and home delivery service based in Middletown, Maryland.
We are looking for a refrigeration tech to maintain and repair our refrigeration equipment and systems.
You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our coolers, freezers, trucks, and ice machines.
You will work closely with our production, delivery, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.
Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment and systems.
Diagnose and repair any malfunctions or defects in refrigeration equipment and systems.
Install, test, and commission new refrigeration equipment and systems.
Follow safety procedures and regulations when working with refrigerants and electrical components.
Document and report all work done, parts used, and problems encountered.
Provide technical support and guidance to other staff members as needed.

Technical Aptitude
Troubleshooting
Must be able to troubleshoot and repair commercial refrigeration systems
Reliability
Basic knowledge of HVAC Commercial Refrigeration
A self-starter that can work independently as well as work with a team
At least 2 years of experience as a refrigeration tech or similar role.
Certification in refrigeration, HVAC, or electrical systems preferred.
Knowledge of refrigeration principles, equipment, and systems.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and codes.
Ability to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Some travel is required
