Location/Division Specific Information: Middletown VA/Clinical Diagnostics Division

Position Summary:

Fluent in Microsoft Windows and Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint). The Procurement Specialist will make an impact by collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and vendors to identify and realize improvements in quality, delivery and price. Providing input to management regarding problems such as shortages, design changes, and backlogs. Assisting in developing and improving materials management procedures and continuously working toward developing an improved supplier base.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Placing PO’s and planning material requirements to support inventory, production, and customer requirements while maintaining cost objectives

  • Lead Open and Past Due PO’s, reschedule requests, and expediting deliveries with our supplier

  • Maintain accurate ERP system information, including but not limited to:

  • standard lead-times

  • pricing, EOQ/MOQ

  • delivery dates

  • Handle materials supply and inventory levels to meet manufacturing goals, review ECO’s and work closely with suppliers and internal teams to update required data and communicate changes, and has strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts and get results.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business-related subject area or validated experience is desired.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • 1-3 years of relevant procurement and planning experience in a manufacturing supply chain preferred.

  • Meaningful experience in the Life Science, Medical Device, or highly regulated industry.

  • Certification in CPIM or CSCP desirable.

  • Strong analytical skills combined with practical business sense.

  • Strong oral and written communication, strong multitasking and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a global matrix and cross-functional team environment with Operations and with internal and external customers.

  • Experience with ERP systems SAP, JD Edwards preferred and with MRP/demand planning.
