Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for basic preventative, routine maintenance (i.e., changing oil, breaks, batteries, etc.) and repair of equipment; maintain appropriate documentation of maintenance.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Responsible for basic preventative, routine maintenance to include changing oil, breaks, batteries, etc. for equipment; maintain and complete basic repairs of semi tractors or trailers.

  • Meet with supervisor/lead to discuss maintenance and repair orders and priorities, and any issues or conditions which might affect the operation of the equipment.

  • Assess the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure equipment maintenance is completed on schedule to avoid major repairs, down time of the equipment's etc.

  • Order replacement parts, ensure that the parts ordered are correct and complete at the time of order.

  • Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to ensure timely documentation of maintenance and repairs.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure completed work areas are clean.

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Driver’s License (Required)

  • Proficiency in the use of mechanical tools required.

  • Must be able to safely drive material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers as necessary/required.

  • Good communication skills, written and verbal to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects.

  • Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled.

  • Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and works well with others.

  • Must work well under pressure, and is able to organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines.

  • Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely.

  • Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively.

  • Basic mechanic tools and toolbox

  • Ability to demonstrate and obtain Inspector certification for DOT, and brake inspections.

  • CommercialDriver'sLicense (Preferred)

  • Driver’s License (Required)

  • Hilo License (Preferred)

  • One year mechanical/machinery maintenance and/or repair experience or related technical school certificate.

  • Ability to obtain forkliftcertification/CDL if required.

  • Proficiency in the use ofmechanicaltools required.

  • Must have necessary mechanic tools to maintain and repair machinery and equipment's.

  • Must be able to safely drive material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers as necessary/required.

Physical Requirements:

Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
