About you and this role

Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aLead Data Engineer. This role can be located inMidland, MI, Freeport, TX , Houston, TXorCollegeville, PA.

As the lead data engineer, you will define and lead the implementation of Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) enterprise grade data solutions. Sets development standards and practices for data ingestion, transformation, and consumption. Acts as the technical development leader for data engineering across Integrated Supply Chain working closely with the Enterprise Data & Analytics organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Optimize and tune data processing workflows for performance and cost-efficiency.

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across data platforms.

  • Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Collaborates across the IT organization to ensure technical alignment on data engineering needs.

  • Assists in the design and development of infrastructure systems (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes) including data consumption patterns.

  • Participates in architecture assessments, solution architecture design, and capability roadmap development.

  • Works closely with peers in the Enterprise Data & Analytics team to map technical capabilities to analytics needs.

  • Understands ERP systems and other ISC data sources (OMP, OTM, Dynamics CRM, etc...)

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant with 5 years of experienceorin lieu of an advanced degree, 10 years of relevant experience.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills

  • Programming Languages:Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Scala. Experience with Java or C# is a plus.

  • Cloud Technologies:Experience with Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or equivalent, Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Redshift, or equivalent, SQL Database,, Azure Blob Storage or equivalent

  • Data Engineering Concepts: Familiarity with Data warehousing and ETL processes, Data modeling and schema design, Data governance and security, Real-time data processing and streaming, Performance tuning and optimization

  • Experience with Databricks Technologies: Unity Catalog, Workflows, Delta Live Tables, Asset Bundles

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines – Azure DevOps is a plus.

  • Experience with machine learning and AI integration.
