Job summary:
The Iron Technician I provides assembly and testing of various mechanical components in the oil and gas industry.
Shift Hours: Typical shift pattern is Monday through Friday 6:00pm-3:00am. Please note overtime is available as business demands.
Starting Pay: $21.30 base pay with $1.00 shift differential per hour during first 40 hours worked and $1.50 shift differential per hour during overtime worked. Base pay can be adjusted with experience.
What you will do:
At SPM Oil & Gas, our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer service
Process incoming iron starts to finish. Able to accept equipment from delivery, recertify equipment, load equipment for delivery, complete all associate paperwork, perform quality check, and manage inventory (without supervision)
Understand customer requirements throughout the entire refurbishment of flow control product to produce high quality product
Clean, strip and inspect all required flow control components
Prepare flow control products for Gauging, Ultra Sonic, and MPI inspections
Disassemble of flow control products per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools, equipment, and work area
Exhibit and always advocate exemplary safety culture
Perform additional duties as assigned
What you will have:
Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrate consistency, accountability, reliability, and solid work ethic
Ability to operate hand tools such as hammers and screw drivers
Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment

Physical Demands:
Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department
Work Environment:
Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions
Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration
Noise Level: Moderate
