Description

Georgia Military College welcomes applications for a Part-Time Mailroom Assistant. This position a ssists the Mail Operations Coordinator in their daily duties. The part-time Mail Operations Assistant is responsible for the pick-up and drop-off of cadet personal and official GMC mail at the main post office in downtown Milledgeville. Once mail is received, it is processed, sorted, tracked, distributed, and/or delivered as necessary. The position also includes the processing of mail for other GMC Campuses and the members of the JC Cadet Corps.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Receive, process, track, and account for all incoming/outgoing mail, boxes, and items through the mailroom. Delivers or redirects mentioned items throughout the main campus, other campuses, and cadets as required

• Pick-up and drop-off mail daily from the main post office. for tracking all incoming/outgoing items, create shipping labels, and inventory control database

• Assist in other areas as required

• Maintain key control of GMC mail office boxes

• Operate various vehicles, carts, material handling equipment

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Basic level computer skills to include MS Office and use of databases required

• Ability to lift up to 70lbs required

• Customer service orientated

  Education

• High school diploma/GED Equivalent required

• 2 years of college preferred

  Experience

• 2 years driving experience and no major traffic violation s required

• Experience with regular mail delivery and sorting preferred

• Experience with tracking software preferred

• Typing 40WPMpreferred
