Fantastic opportunity for an RVN to join an established ECC night team in our Tier 3 Cambridgeshire hospital!
The Role:
Our RCVS accredited Milton Hospital has a real emphasis in ECC and medicine, and by hosting our own Vet24 OOH service, we see an exciting and varied case load, benefiting from a continuity of day and night clinical care. Many local practices feed into our Milton clinic, resulting in a true critical care case load. No day is ever the same. We are well equipped with everything you would expect, including endoscopes, full in-house laboratory assessments including blood gas analysis and coagulation times, digital X-rays including dental X-rays, ultrasound with linear and phased array probes, video gastroscope, bronchoscope and laparoscope, fully equipped theatre for ECC surgery and dental suite. There is a separate cat and dog ward, and we are proud to have silver cat friendly status. We also have on-site parking available for the team.
As an RVN on our night team, you would be working alongside another RVN, Receptionist, 1 Vet and PCA, in addition to overlap from the Twilight Vet at weekends. We have a strong ethos at Village Vets Cambridge, and you will be welcomed into and honest and open team who really work well to support and encourage each other. There are lots of Vets and nurses on the team with their own individual interests which we love to support; we can offer great in-house training opportunities and the perfect environment to grow your skills, particularly for nurses with an ECC interest!
Hours are 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off on an annualised contract. Shift start at 7:15pm and end at 8:15am. Average 30.33 hours per week.

A Village Vet nursing role includes a wide breadth of nursing duties, incorporating the management of complex medical and surgical patients, provision of perioperative care, assisting with the provision of anaesthesia and schedule III procedures, as well as supporting the patient journey from admission to discharge. We also support our clients with regular (and busy!) nurse clinics. Our vets are amazing, many of them are certificate holders and some are advanced practitioners too. Our veterinary surgeons appreciate and respect the nursing team, valuing their professionalism and input.
