We have an exciting opportunity to join our Cyber Security Team as a Cyber Security Consultant based at our office in Linford Wood, Milton Keynes.
The successful Cyber Security Consultant will take on a multifaceted role that combines strategic consultancy with hands-on technical work. You will be responsible for advising clients on enhancing their security posture and actively improving their security frameworks. Some of the main areas that you will fulfil your role include direct involvement in enhancing clients' Microsoft Secure Score, leading major incident responses, and guiding clients through security compliance processes such as Cyber Essentials.
Our ideal candidate will excel in both providing expert strategic advice and executing technical security measures.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory and Security Posture Improvement:
Provide expert advice to clients on best practices for improving their security posture.
Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend actionable improvements.
Develop and implement customised security strategies for clients.
Microsoft Secure Score Enhancement:
Take an active role in improving clients' Microsoft Secure Score.
Implement security measures and configurations within Microsoft environments to enhance security ratings.
Monitor and maintain security settings to ensure ongoing compliance and protection.
Incident Response:
Lead major incident response efforts, coordinating with clients and internal teams to manage and mitigate security incidents.
Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches and provide detailed reports on findings and remediation steps.
Develop and maintain incident response plans and protocols.
Security Compliance:
Assist clients in achieving and maintaining security compliance standards such as Cyber Essentials.
Guide clients through the compliance process, providing necessary documentation and support.
Conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with clients to understand their security needs and provide tailored solutions.
Provide training and support to clients and internal teams on security best practices and tools.
Collaborate with vendors and external partners to stay current on emerging threats and technologies.
Skills / Attributes
Minimum of 3 years of experience in senior cyber security role or 1 year in a cyber security consultancy role, preferably within an MSP environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft security tools and platforms, including Microsoft Secure Score.
Proven experience in incident response and handling major security incidents.
Familiarity with security compliance standards such as Cyber Essentials.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable Skills / Qualifications
Experience in conducting security assessments and audits.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats.
Certification in relevant cyber security fields (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, etc.).
Package Details
Salary is up to £60k pa, dependant on experience and accreditations
24 Days Holiday Increasing with 2 & 3 years service plus 1 day off for your birthday each year
The hours of work are 37.5 per week.
Based at our Milton Keynes Office.
