Shell Senior Pricing Analyst in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom

What’s the role?

The role supports our business’ growth ambition in the B2B space, by ensuring we provide accurate and timely product offers and contract documentation to our salespeople delivering sustainable customer growth.

Reporting into the Mid-Market Pricing Manager, the role requires a self-motivated, dedicated, and responsible individual with the ability to perform well under pressure.

You will get the opportunity to deliver improvements to our pricing process and system capability that will have tangible benefits for our business customers, including improving the speed at which tenders are generated, simplifying the contracting process, and developing more tailored offers by incorporating a wider set of customer information when determining the price point.

  • Assisting the Mid-Market Pricing Manager in implementing pricing and credit strategy to support our growth plans in the Mid-Market customer segment

  • Responsible for the day-to-day production of tenders ensuring they are maintained efficiently and effectively

  • Assisting the Mid-Market Pricing Manager in prioritising the team workflow, to produce timely, accurate and competitive prices relating to structured energy products and services

  • Taking a proactive role in the identification and implementation of improvements to pricing, quotation and acceptance processes including automating manual processes, removing blockers, and simplifying processes all aiming for a smooth end to end process with limited touchpoints

  • Scope out, request and test changes to the core pricing systems and models

  • Support Sales by managing the Business Pricing Inbox where sales requests for pricing are raised

  • Ensure all service levels (SLAs) are met, with queries dealt with efficiently, accurately, and effectively

  • Maintain and update the requisite process documentation and training this out to the wider B2B Pricing team as required

  • Implementing the Commercial Credit Policy and interpreting third party reports/company filings to determine the appropriate level of credit mitigation for contract requests

  • Validating both outbound prices and incoming contracts to ensure they meet the needs of our customers whilst also delivering the expected value to our P&L

  • Validation of day-to-day price movements within our pricing systems

  • Creation of KPIs and building of reports/dashboards to track performance of the Mid-Market Pricing team

  • To fully understand our suite of products and their associated terms & conditions

What we need from you

We are keen to speak from individuals with experience in B2B retail energy pricing. An appreciation of wholesale market dynamics and insight into power/gas non-commodity charges and their underlying drivers and charging mechanisms would be ideal. You’ll also call on your degree in a numerical/business discipline or equivalent.

We also hope you possess the following skills and/or experience:

  • Highly analytical and numerate with excellent attention to details

  • Familiarity with VBA/SQL or similar programming/logic, or the desire to learn

  • Good communication skills – both written and oral

  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage conflicting priorities and expectations of multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to breakdown and communicate complex ideas to support/upskill junior team members
