Non-Traditional Education Support Coordinator

Milton, PA

 

Full time position responsible for improving learning opportunities for students by academic and social emotional pacing and coaching to students referred to the Non-Traditional Education Program (NTEP). The NTESC oversees each student's cyber programming, maintains progress for each student, communicates with the student, Local Education Agency (LEA) and family on progress and facilitates the daily schedule and decision making within the Non-Traditional Education Program. The NTESC also coordinates and plans community based and workforce education opportunities for students. Systems used within the NTEP include restorative practices, trauma informed practices, social emotional learning skill development, behavior support, and self-advocacy and reliance.

 

 

Hourly:  $36.67 -- 40.00 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience.  This is a non-exempt position that works a minimum of 200 days with the requirement to work up to 210 days as directed by the immediate supervisor.  Hours per week are 37.5 (Monday through Friday). Education and experience requirements:

  1. A minimum of an Associate's degree in education, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related specialty area is preferred. Or will consider a minimum two (2) years post-secondary education in education, counseling, social work, psychology or related specialty area; Or a minimum of five (5) years related work experience in educational programming for at-risk youth or young adults.
  2. A minimum of two (2) years in a supervisory capacity role with school age youth is required.
  3. Experience collaborating with professionals in school systems.
  4. Knowledge and skills related to cyber or virtual environments, grading, pacing and content.
  5. Lived experience related to trauma, adverse experiences and overcoming adversity.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with colleagues, co-workers, community agency personnel, and students/trainees.
  7. Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
  8. Experience with learning management systems including, but not limited to: Blackboard, Moodle, Thinkific, etc.
  9. mputer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data entry, email and experience managing file sharing with Google Drive.
  10. Adept at using virtual meeting platforms such as Skype, Zoom and Microsoft Teams. 
  11. Ability to acquire and apply new knowledge quickly.
  12. Able to sustain effort and enthusiasm in the quality of work.
  13. Requires the ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships using tact and diplomacy and to remain calm in unpredictable situations.
  14. Effective time management, organizational skills, and prioritization of work to meet the needs of the users.
  15. Maintain confidentiality regarding education programs, students, and parents at all times, adhering to the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements to protect staff and student data.
