The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee College of Health Professions & Sciences (https://uwm.edu/health-professions-sciences/) offers a wide array of health-related academic programs in biomedical sciences, global health, health care administration, nursing, the rehabilitation sciences, and sustainable peacebuilding serving 2300+ students. Job Summary

The Dean’s Assistant (Administrative Assistant III ) provides executive administrative support to the Dean of the College of Health Professions and Sciences ( CHPS ) and to the Associate Deans/Heads of School for Rehabilitation Science and Technology ( RST ) and Biomedical Sciences and Health Care Administration ( BMS / HCA ) in support of unit goals. The Dean’s Assistant works to ensure effective office operations exercising initiative and independent judgment in managing scheduling and daily office operations in a highly confidential and professional manner.

The role requires communication and engagement with multiple constituencies including UW-Milwaukee Administration and various leaders from UWM schools and colleges, community members, the general public, as well as CHPS faculty and staff.

Estimated division of time: 34% CHPS Dean’s office; 33% Associate Dean BMS / HCA ; 33% Associate Dean RST .

Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Milwaukee campus, with requests for remote work considered after the initial training period. Hybrid work options may be available with specifics regarding work location requirements discussed during the interview process. Please note, at this time, the position is open only to current UW Milwaukee employees.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of related administrative experience

  • Proficiency in operating a variety of office equipment (e.g., computer, copier, scanner, mail) and proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft suite applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion.

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills

  • Experience with office and project management

  • Excellent communication skills as demonstrated in application materials

  • Experience in higher education settings

    Target Salary Range Minimum starting wage of $25.63/hr (The final offer will be contingent upon the knowledge, skills, and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process, as well as educational qualifications.)
