How you will help us create value together: As a Weld Lab Intern, you will be responsible for a range of support activities for the Weld Engineering Department. The Weld lab trains and tests future employees, develop qualified weld procedures for manual and robotic welding and research the latest technology used in Heavy Plate welding and fabrication. Activities will include learning various welding processes including robotic welding, improving workplace organization and welding procedure qualification. This position will be based onsite at our South Harbor location in Milwaukee\'s Harbor District! The target start date for this role is Summer 2024 and has potential to be extended into the Fall 2024 school semester. We offer full-time hours during the summer and flexible part-time hours during the academic year. Key Job Responsibilities Develop an understanding of the welding processes utilized at Komatsu. Utilize design software to organize work centers, fabricate tool organizers, and welding fixtures. Assist Welding manager in writing work instructions and weld procedure development. Work with purchasing and outside vendors on tooling, testing material and welding consumables procurement. Learn basics of robotic welding and how they are programmed. Learn the fundamentals of welding processes used at Komatsu Qualifications/Requirements Pursuing a bachelor\'s or advanced degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or WeldingEngineering, or similar, from an accredited college or university Rising Junior or Senior level student in good academic standing Ability to work independently as well as part of a team towards a...
