The senior manager leads and develops their direct operational leadership team to support the future growth of the business. They are responsible for leading all day-to-day operations at Carson Valley Distribution Center, which includes the safety of all partners, ensuring high quality service with our end customer in mind, managing an annual P&L of up to $46M, inbound receiving, product flow through the DC, and outbound activities.

As a senior operations manager , you will…

  • Leadership - Set goals for the work group (supervisor to operations manager), develop organizational capability, and model how we work together. Apprise management of team progress toward departmental goals. Ensure effective and timely communication of company, plant, and departmental information to managers, peers, and own work team, including supervisors, leads, and partners.

  • Planning and Execution - Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group, manage execution, and measure results. Own day-to-day business operations and annual financial plan. Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.

  • Business Requirements - Provide functional expertise and execute functional responsibilities. Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

  • Partner Development & Team Building - Provide partners with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities, and build effective teams.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 8 years of experience in distribution and related functions

  • 5 years of experience developing and leading quality, customer service, and cost improvement programs in various fields or company environments

  • 5 years of management experience

  • 5 years of experience in managing budgets

  • 5 years of experience working in major food service or food company distribution centers

  • Team-building skills

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to build an organization to support growth

  • Ability to form and develop effective leadership teams

  • Ability to recommend and implement solutions

  • Analytical skills

  • Problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build relationships

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others

  • Familiarity with American Institute of Baking (AIB), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
