Movement of ground support equipment and checking for arriving and departing aircraft at the MSP hangar facility. The technician will also be responsible for the operation and fueling of powered ground support equipment as well as working in the tooling distribution and ACC tower for communication of aircraft moves. Responsible for the safe and timely movement of aircraft Work the ACC tower; operating the radio to communicate movement of aircraft May work the tooling distribution program; manage the receiving and distribution of tools, sending tools for calibration, and creating tool kits Obtain and maintain MAC area movement license Assist maintenance with heat carts, ground power units, and stairs Assist maintenance with aircraft parking and movement Responsible for fueling ground equipment Responsible for washing aircraft Assist in stocking applicable supplies in hangar/work areas Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, and federal safety and health regulatory requirements, programmatic standards, and with any internal policies and procedures identified by Sun Country Airlines Assist aircraft technicians with maintenance tasks All inclement weather aircraft protection duties Hangar and Operations area cleaning and organizational duties as assigned Other duties as assigned by AST POC, MSP Maintenance Crew Chiefs, and Management Classification:Full-time, Non-exempt Working Location:This position is open inMinneapolis, MN Supervisory Responsibility: None The qualifications we are looking for in an Aircraft Support Technician include: High school diploma or equivalent Must be highly motivated and a self-starter Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving skills Work effectively with minimal supervision under stressful situations Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving skills Work effectively with minimal supervision Preferred Skills: Aircraft ground support experience Familiarity with aircraft tooling Experience distribution of aircraft tooling Aircraft experience civilian or military VHF radio communication experience Work Environment This job operates in the maintenance hangar, amp area and ACC tower operations. This role is routinely exposed to all weather elements. Physical Demands Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights, up to 75 pounds regularly. This position will also be required to lift to 100 pounds on occasion. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases. Additional Notes Must be able to obtain MSP SIDA badge and customs seal. Must have a valid driver license.
