KLJ Engineering Technician IV - Construction Services in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Description KLJ Engineering is looking for a skilled Engineering Technician IV to join our Construction Services team. This role performs a variety of field and office tasks supporting projects in transportation, infrastructure, utilities, aviation, municipal, public works, telecom, construction services, environment, and other business lines. This position involves assisting engineers and technicians with surveys, inspections, data gathering, analysis, and administrative activities. Key Responsibilities: Conduct field and office technical support for assigned projects. Assist with surveying activities, data gathering, and analysis on construction projects. Generate accurate, concise deliverables to support project aspects. Ensure quality, accuracy, safety, and adherence to industry standards. Collect, compile, measure, and analyze data from various sources. Conduct field inspections and evaluate field/site conditions for compliance. Collaborate with engineers and technical teams on project tasks. Calculate costs, quantities, and verify project specifications. Document and maintain accurate records using electronic systems Follow safety guidelines, work plan preparation, and site-specific procedures. Provide technical support on design, risk assessment, and improvement recommendations. Qualifications: High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree in a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in engineering technician support. Knowledge of engineering support principles, compliance practices, and technical documentation. Proficiency with technical writing, office software, mathematical applications, and spreadsheets. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently or within a team in a dynamic environment. Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities and sound judgment. Willingness to work 40+ hours per week, with 50% office and 50% fieldwork. With a potential increase in fieldwork percentage during construction season. Travel required; valid driver's license necessary. Physical Requirements: Regular activities include sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, and crawling. Able to walk on uneven terrain up to three miles per day. Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
