Salary $45,120.24 - $55,787.60 Annually Job Number 24TRNS124TF153 Closing Date Continuous Description Fleet Services within Hennepin County's Financial Services department is looking for an energetic, highly motivated, and team-oriented Equipment Service worker to join our team. This position will be responsible for maintaining a variety of equipment to include hybrid, electric, gas cars and pickups, emergency vehicles medium and heavy-duty gas or diesel trucks, construction equipment including loaders, graders and skid steers, trailers, small engines, and powersport equipment. Location and hours: This position is located at the Public Works facility located at 1600 Prairie Drive, Medina, MN 55340. There is no public transportation to this facility. Candidates must be able to work the first shift, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and be available for on-call duty after hours, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule. In this position, you will: Inspect and maintain shop tools and equipment, including hoists, cranes, lift straps, and chains. Check vehicles for service due; check and change oil, oil filters, and grease; lubricate vehicles, and equipment. Assist with installing, removing and maintaining snow removal equipment. Inspect, change, repair tires and tubes; rotate and balance tires; check lights, brakes, safety equipment, batteries, fan belts, and radiators. Fuel, wash, and clean maintenance vehicles; steam clean engines and equipment. Keep electronic records of gas and oil dispersed, vehicle mileage, materials, and supplies taken from shop. Assist mechanics in minor automotive repairs and maintenance of tools. Drive vehicles to and from service sites.
