Minneapolis Institute of Art Events Crew Part-time (approx. 4-16 hrs/week), non-exempt, union Hourly rate: $19.25; will increase to $20.75 starting 7/1/24 Onsite; Must be willing to work evenings and weekends The Job The Event Crew perform a variety of duties related to the preparation for and implementation of museum events. In this role, you will Move and set up equipment such as tables, chairs, signs, recycling bins and pianos for events. Maneuver loaded carts and heavy equipment near artwork and through the building. Provide coat check during special events. Greet and assist the public while working events. Assist with special activities during events. To be successful in this role You are able to work at a quick pace with caution. You are a good listener and able to follow directions, while demonstrating good judgement in a dynamic environment. You are punctual and understand the importance of showing up on time. You are comfortable working with the public and have a positive attitude. You manage unexpected, last minute changes with grace and agility. Specific Requirements Exceptional customer service skills. Ability to lift at least 30 pounds. Ability to exercise judgment and caution when moving objects through the galleries. Good verbal communication skills. Able to work with a team. Able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, and weekends to support the museum s event business.
