Honeywell Hybrids Engineering Technician in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Honeywell is hiring an engineering technician to join the Hybrids Lab within the Minneapolis Electronic Test Organization. You will be a contributor to an engineering team, partner with world class engineers and technicians to assemble microwave integrated circuits for use in Honeywell Radar Altimeter products. You will apply expertise to assemble integrated circuits and provide support to the production of our products. You will work with cross-functional departments to ensure project and lab success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform microelectronic assembly of hybrid integrated circuit devices on a variety of small production lots.

  • Perform Thick Film Network Printing and Inspection Operations

  • Support Semi-Annual and Annual Laboratory Parts / Chemical Inventories results and contribute to ongoing improvements to assembly standard work.

  • Record and report production data.

  • Set up and change over equipment.

  • Use measuring and diagnostic tools.

    U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

    Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

    YOU MUST HAVE

  • Ability to read/interpret product drawings, specifications, and schematics.

  • Follow written assembly and test instructions

  • Comply with applicable Honeywell Quality System Requirements.

  • Work extensively with microscope and tweezers to accurately place microelectronic components.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to support multiple concurrent assembly lots.

  • Troubleshooting skills to be able to resolve device performance issues, using basic electronic test instruments.

  • Safely operate manual, semi-auto, and automatic equipment.

  • Accurately complete the required documentation in a neat and timely manner.

  • Good manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and attention to detail.

  • Soldering skills, ability to obtain solder certification

  • Ability to improve efficiency and establish a standard production rate in performance of maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.

  • Practical experience working with engineering equipment.

  • Sound technical judgment and opinions. Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, based on fundamental technical information on assembly processing.

  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with other individuals in a team or project setting.

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked by others or forced to by events.
