TEKsystems IT Support Specialist in Minneapolis, Minnesota


IT Support Specialist


IT Support Specialist monitors and maintains our various computer systems and networks. You will be

installing and configuring software and hardware systems, diagnosing faults and solving technical

problems, either over the phone or in-person all while providing pleasant and patient customer support.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

. Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications

. Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks

. Walk clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up

systems or resolve issues

. Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults

. Replace computer and network parts and equipment as required

. Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports

. Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system

. Support the roll-out of new applications

. Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues

. Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)

. Prioritize and manage open cases

. Establish great working relationships with clients, vendors, and other members of the team

. Test, evaluate, and deploy new technology as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

. Must pass the Applicant Study required by the Department of Human


. Must have documentation of U.S. citizenship or eligibility to work in the U.S.

. 5-10 of Information Technology experience

. Associates Degree, College Diploma, or equivalent experience in a relevant field


. Great communication and customer service skills

. Wide technical support experience including but not limited to iPad, PC, Active

Directory, Office365, networking devices (routers, switches, wireless access points, etc.),

and surveillance and security technology support

. Team player with the ability to manage competing priorities while servicing our clients


. Dynamic, energetic, motivated, positive outlook

. Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

. Ability to work with minimal supervision

. Must have the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs from a standing position or up to 30-40 lbs

climbing a ladder or lift above the shoulders.

. Must be able to bend over and crawl on hands and knees.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Walk clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up

systems or resolve issues. Tier 2 and 3 Support experience.
