Position Summary The primary responsibility of the Laboratory Research Associate is supporting all lab functions of research projects for multiple hospital departments within the clinical setting. The Laboratory Research Associate will assist in carrying out multiple clinical studies concurrently. Monday-Friday: 0730-1600 Both Mpls and St. Paul campuses No holidays Weekends-per department need *Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory, Chemistry, Biology or related fields *Detail oriented with strong written and oral communication skills *Strong computer skills beyond basic familiarity with the most common hardware and software systems. Strong experience with excel or other organizational software preferred. *Ability to assist staff working on multiple projects: and organize and prioritize work effectively in order to meet deadlines *Experience working with pediatric populations (preferred) License/Certification/Registration: *Preferred certification within one year of hire for Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science and Medical Laboratory Scientists Education: *Baccalaureate degree or equivalent required (CLIA '88 regulations) Experience: *Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience required *Previous research experience preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Participate in sample collection and data collection, shipment preparation, completion, and reporting of routine to moderately complex clinical studies in accordance with Standard operating Procedures and Good Clinical Practices *Expertise in basic clinical laboratory skills including the use of calibrated pipettes, laboratory centrifuges and temperature monitors *Aliquot and process samples for clinical research studies. Samples may include blood, sputum, stool, urine, throat swabs, wound swabs, urogenital and body fluids *Study specific data entry in to appropriate electronic systems *Document and account for all incoming samples and materials *Transport materials and samples to and from collection sites to lab *Ensure proper communication and compliance with internal and external parties *Other applicable duties as assigned Physical Demands Please click here to view the Physical Demands The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs.
