Fairview Health Services Maintenance Engineer in Minneapolis, Minnesota
Overview
The Maintenance Engineer operates and maintains the equipment and fixtures within the facility using acceptable work practices and following hospital and departmental guidelines to maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.
This is a FT, 80hr per week position, and benefit eligible! Schedule
1st week shift 6am-230pm Monday -Friday
2nd week shift 6am-230pm Monday -Friday
3rd week shift 6am-230pm Monday and Tuesday
4th week shifts 2-10pm/10p-6am with weekends 6am -230pm

Responsibilities Job Description
Responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment and systems assigned within the hospital and for patients to assure safety for patients and follow regulatory standards.
Follows accepted practices and procedures for mechanical and electrical equipment including; plumbing, controls, HVAC refrigeration, electrical/emergency power, and building automation system.
Gains a detailed understanding of the major systems, is able to operate them safely and efficiently and solve problems to minimize down time and maintain distribution of service
Repairs, maintains, adjusts and calibrates miscellaneous portable equipment brought to the shop for repair, including but not limited to wheelchairs, carts, kitchen equipment, barometers, beds, tubes etc.
Demonstrates the ability to use blueprints, schematics and technical manuals to trouble-shoot and isolate problems.
Demonstrates safe and efficient practice in the use of hand and power tools.
Performs periodic preventive maintenance on fans, motors, belts, HVAC systems, steam, water, sewer, air and vacuum lines regulatory as assigned.
Completes and turns in required documentation i.e. work logs, check lists and other documentation.
Performs all duties in a safe, efficient manner.
Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Five years experience in operation and maintenance in commercial, industrial or institutional environment.
Possesses or will strive to obtain a valid Minnesota Maintenance Electrical license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited trade school in refrigeration, electricity, building maintenance or other appropriate course
Minnesota Maintenance Electrical License, Universal Refrigeration License.
