Date Posted: October 11, 2021 Department: 31009903 Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Associates Abbott Northwestern Hospital Campus Shift: Day (United States of America) Hours Per Week: 0 Union Contract: Non-Union Weekend Rotation: None Job Summary: Performs and analyzes electromyography and electroencephalogram procedures for use by a physician in diagnosing neuromuscular disorders. Job Description: Principle Responsibilities Patient registration Obtains comprehensive patient and medication history from electronic medical record, nurse and family members as needed. Verifies patient identity and accurately enters patient identification (ID) on all studies. Educates patient and/or family on test procedures. Coordinates procedures with other departments. Testing process and analysis Performs and analyzes electromyography and electroencephalogram procedures to measures electrical activity in peripheral nerves using electromyograph (EMG) electroencephalogram (EEG) instruments. Adjusts, controls and employs alternative methods to obtain optimal recording. Performs appropriate stimulation. Equipment support and management Submits time and charge sheets for procedures. Ensures equipment is clean and properly working. Verifies equipment calibrations and troubleshoots problems and/or repair and reports as needed. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Associate's or Vocational degree in Applied Science or Science in Neurophysiology required Less than 2 Years experience in a related field required and Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills required and Familiar with medical terminology, computer and clerical skills, ability to prioritize and organize preferred BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required certification by AAET or ABRET within 30 Days EEG/EMG Certification through the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) or similar within 1 Year required Leadership Capabilities See the Big Picture: Know where we are going as an organization.
