Fairview Health Services Pharmacy Technician I - Shipping and Receiving - FPS in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

The Pharmacy Technician I - Shipping and Receiving is responsible for delivery, fulfillment and inventory activities within the designated pharmacy or shipping department. Under the direction of the Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician I - Shipping and Receiving is responsible for day-to-day comprehensive pharmacy technician services in the Shipping Department for Fairview Pharmacy Services. The Pharmacy Technician I - Shipping and Receiving is responsible for delivery ticket fulfillment, labeling and packaging medications and orders and inventory management.

Responsibilities Job Description

  • Coordinate the tracking, packaging and labeling of medications and equipment ensuring appropriate receipt and/or transfer to the shipping or other areas of the pharmacy as appropriate.

  • Monitors and maintains appropriate stock level in accordance with PAR levels and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Consistently implement and adhere to the pharmacy customer service standards. The standards include maintaining confidentiality, promoting teamwork, successful communication and conflict resolution.

  • Supports and adheres to pharmacy SOPs, quality assurance, performance improvement and compliance programs recognizing trends and identifying when additional reporting, communication or other action is appropriate. Demonstrates competency and compliance with all regulatory agency policies.

  • Performs cleaning, organization and equipment decontamination tasks as requested.

Qualifications

Experience

Six months of customer service experience.

Familiarity with data entry/computer programs including MS Office

License/Certification/Registration

Registered Technician with Minnesota Board of Pharmacy

Preferred

Experience

1 year of pharmacy, warehouse or inventory experience.
