Our program integrates the strengths of a collaborative clinical, research, and educational environment, striving to improve outcomes and enhance care through innovative therapies and research initiatives. With the support of our 19 faculty members and 55 dedicated staff, our division aims to make impactful strides in the treatment of brain tumors and cancer survivorship. As the Program Manager of the Brain Tumor Program, you will play a vital role in advancing our program's goals by overseeing strategic initiatives, enhancing operational processes, and fostering connections with internal teams and external partners. Key Responsibilities Program Leadership & Strategic Operations (30%) Strategic Program Development: Drive and manage the program's strategic initiatives, translating high-level objectives into actionable plans. Lead program growth through data-informed strategies that align with divisional goals to maximize program effectiveness and long-term sustainability. Operational Workflow Management: Design, implement, and continuously improve administrative workflows within the Brain Tumor Program, ensuring efficient and effective operations. Proactively identify and address operational needs to streamline processes and optimize resources. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Act as a primary representative of the Brain Tumor Program, fostering strong relationships with faculty, institutional partners, and external collaborators. Facilitate partnerships that enhance research and clinical collaborations, furthering program objectives. Faculty Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate recruitment processes for the program, ensuring seamless onboarding for new faculty and staff by managing access, equipment, and integration into divisional workflows and resources. Event Coordination & Leadership: Oversee planning and execution for program-specific events, such as symposiums, seminar series, and collaborative meetings. Foster an engaging environment for faculty, staff, and external partners, enriching the learning and networking opportunities across the program. Project Management & Brain Tumor Program Support (40%) Program Communication & Outreach: Manage the Brain Tumor Program's newsletter, website, and email communications, ensuring accurate, timely, and relevant information reaches internal and external audiences to build program visibility and engagement. Grant & Research Project Management: Support research funding initiatives by managing grant applications and renewals, including grant coordination, selection committee organization, and providing administrative support for ongoing research projects. Event Management & Logistics: Lead the logistical planning for key events, including the Neuro-Oncology Symposium, Minnesota Neurofibromatosis Symposium, and monthly seminar series. Ensure events are well-executed, impactful, and align with the program's mission. Faculty & Lab Operations Support (30%) Faculty & Lab Coordination: Oversee scheduling, travel, and complex administrative support for faculty involved in the Brain Tumor Program, ensuring their logistical needs are met to enhance productivity and research output. Documentation & Reporting Management: Maintain faculty documentation, including CVs, bio-sketches, and esearch profiles. Support program evaluation processes, including performance appraisals and faculty promotion, to keep records accurate and up to date. Lab & Research Support: Coordinate lab operations and research compliance activities, including grant and publication compliance, supply ordering, and onboarding for new lab members. Ensure that all research activities adhere to university policies and contribute to program goals. Candidate Profile: The ideal Program Manager will possess a strong strategic and operational mindset, capable of advancing program initiatives and driving collaborative engagement. This individual will bring a proactive, organized approach to Program Management, with an emphasis on building effective relationships and streamlining processes. Qualifications All required qualifications must be documented on application materials Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree plus at least two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least six years. Preferred Qualifications: Strategic Vision & Program Development: Proven experience in program leadership, with the ability to drive initiatives, align with division goals, and ensure sustainable growth. Operational Efficiency: Skilled in analyzing and enhancing workflows, with a proactive approach to resolving challenges and optimizing resource allocation. Communication & Relationship Building: Strong communication skills with the ability to establish trust-based relationships across diverse teams and partners, enhancing program collaboration and effectiveness. Project & Event Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multifaceted projects and high-profile events, ensuring alignment with program goals and successful execution.
