Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency Staff Nurse - PACU in Minneapolis, Minnesota
*SUMMARY:* We are currently seeking aStaff Nurseto join our PACU.
This position is Casual.
*Note: If you are currently in a benefit earning position and apply for this casual position you will be decreasing your current hours to casual with no benefits. *
/Casual nurses are nurses who have no regular appointed scheduled hours (no assigned FTE). Casual nurses must make themselves available to work a minimum of two (2) open 8 hour minimum length shifts per four (4)-week scheduling period at straight time, a minimum of one shift must be a weekend shift. Casual nurses must also make themselves available to work two (2) of the following holiday shifts (per calendar year:, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. A minimum of one of the holidays must be a winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s)./
*RESPONSIBILITIES:* Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:
- Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health
- Preventing illness and injury
- Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
- Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
- Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
Minimum Qualifications:
- ACLS required
- PALS certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire
- 1 year of current Adult ICU or PACU experience
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of ICU, ED, PACU experience preferred
- Certification in area of clinical specialty
- BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
