Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency Staff Nurse RN (1.0 FTE) - Oncology-Cancer Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota
*SUMMARY:* Hennepin Healthcare is hiring a* Staff Nurse*to join our Oncology departmentin downtown Minneapolis. This position is a full-time position and will work day shift(1.0 FTE: 5 days/week, 8 hour shifts).
**This position is currently Monday-Friday day hours but may expand to include evenings and weekends as we grow.
A sign-on bonus is available for eligible external candidates (current employees and former employees returning to HHS within one year are ineligible).
* _RESPONSIBILITIES*_ Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:
- Protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health
- Triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care
- Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
- Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
- Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
- Educating patient on their disease process
- Assuring continuity of care
- Educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being
_QUALIFICATIONS:_ Minimum Qualifications: * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing * Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota * Triage experience required * OCN certified or obtain within two years of start date
Preferred Qualifications: * Certification in area of clinical specialty * Prior Referral experience * BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
