Salvation Army Youth Development Coordinator in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Position Summary The Youth Development Coordinator develops youth (0 to 29 years of age) in their faith, character, and person through Corps programs and ministries at The Salvation Army Northern Division Minneapolis Temple Corps. The Coordinator is also responsible to coordinate programming, increase participation, and promote The Salvation Army. $20.70/hour, 20 hours/week 1604 East Lake Street, Mpls, MN 55407 Essential Functions (Approximate time spent) Develop, coordinate, and oversee all youth programming, events, trips, and activities in a variety of areas including spiritual, educational, recreational, after-school programming, and relational (55%). Participate in Worship and Christian education programs including assisting with the following: programming, meetings, preaching, and teaching (15%). Engage in internal and external activities to promote engagement in Minneapolis Temple Corps programming, worship, volunteering, and events (15%). Assist with seasonal events and fundraising activities (10%). Support program fiscal responsibility by remaining within budget (5%). Education and Experience Associate degree in related field. In lieu of degree, experience may be considered. Previous experience in community outreach, youth development, education, ministry, or related field. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Senior Soldier in good standing preferred. Valid driver's license, meet MVR driver's qualifications, and pass background check. Competencies Bilingual (English/Spanish) required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment. High level of honor in dealing with confidential information. Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence. Working Conditions Moderate physical work and must be able to lift 50 pounds required. Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Must be able to drive, sit, communicate clearly in English and Spanish, and work in person or on the phone for reasonable periods. Work hours will include evenings and occasional weekends. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise youth program staff and/or volunteers. Travel Requirements Travel throughout the local community using an agency or personal vehicle required.
