The Occupational Health and Safety systems manager will be responsible for maintaining our management system and ultimately, drive compliance, reduce/eliminate risk, support growth and protect Aramark's brand within our North American Food and Facilities operations.
The successful candidate must have had prior hands on experience with Management systems (with a preference for ISO/ CSA Z45001, CSA Z1000, COR or other OHSMS). The individual must be able to develop and execute on project plans and work both autonomously, with the Safety and Risk team and interdepartmentally to build and maintain a sustainable Management system within Aramark Canada's Operation while continuously working to achieve our Target Zero - no harm to people or the environment.
Working with the Director, Safety and Risk, Project lead the successful implementation and certification of CSA Z45001-19 Occupational Health and Safety management system. The candidate will reassess, maintain and review the processes within the system on an as needed basis to ensure programs are effective at reducing risk and are sustainable.
Partnering within our Safety and Risk team ensuring that the requirements to maintain our COR certification is maintained
Responsible for development, deployment and maintenance of relevant safety training/education programs. Must have strong working knowledge and practical application of safety and regulatory programs in Health and Safety and food safety laws that affect Aramark locations, processes, and products.
Evaluate training needs, develop training materials internally or with 3rd party vendors. Review training needs with Regional Safety and Risk support leaders and refine training and awareness strategies. Re-evaluate and/or update training as required
A strong understanding of how to execute new training through a Learning Management system platform, how to plan, design and build roll out plans for new or refreshed learning material
Partner with the Safety and Risk Solutions Regional managers to advise and coordinate support for all health and safety /risk matters and/or crisis/brand protection events and coordinate with appropriate functions (e.g., Legal, Operations, Claims, HR, etc.) to appropriately and effectively manage risk for the organization.
Provide field support for Aramark SAFE activities, if needed, during large scale events and large new account openings
7+ years of occupational safety experience
Familiarity and working knowledge/hands on experience working CSA, ISO or other Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
Thorough knowledge of Provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations,.
Strong proven problem solving, analytical and reporting skills.
