About this role
This excellent opportunity is for a highly motivated individual to assume the Senior Payroll Specialist role. Be part of a growing Shared Service Organization and develop global processes to sustain flexibility as the business needs change.
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, the Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible and accountable for providing end-to-end payroll cycle processing for salaried, hourly union, and non-union employees across all locations in Canada and is based out of our Mississauga location .
This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office and 2 days from home).

Key Responsibilities
Provide high-level quality service to stakeholders, ensure compliance with applicable federal/provincial regulations, company policies, and union agreements
Support with the completion of year-end tax slip production and filings including WCB and EHT annual returns
Acts as a subject matter expert and/or resource to others in payroll processing, integration data management (Workday and ADP GlobalView)
Conduct basic testing/QA for change requests
Review, analyze, and verify payroll reports and documents for accuracy, and make necessary adjustments or corrections through established procedures
Resolve and validate payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Respond to internal and external inquiries from business partners, government agencies, and third-party vendors
Create financial reports for accounting teams and answer inquiries regarding payroll data
Assist with audits and external reporting, i.e., Statistics Canada
Create and maintain payroll-related processes and standard work documents
Basic Qualifications
Associate or post-secondary degree
National Payroll Institute PCP designation
5 years of payroll experience within a national organization
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
ADP GlobalView/SAP experience with knowledge of Workday and associated integrations
Progressive analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (excel, word, etc.)
Working knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial payroll legislation
Working knowledge of Canadian payroll tax and Canadian pension & retirement programs
Ability to work with sensitive and confidential data
English and/or French verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
Organization skills
