Job Description

We are currently sourcing a Scientist Il to join our PDS&T (Pharmaceutical Development Science & Technology) team onsite in Westport, Mayo.

You will demonstrate an inquisitive mind, have a mastery of a broad range of experimental and data analyses techniques that you will use to develop, improve and scale-up new manufacturing processes within our Westport site.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, improve and scale-up new manufacturing processes to bring medicines to patients

  • Independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.

  • Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as their role in achieving those objectives, and modify experimental plan when required, to respond.

  • Innovate and implement new experimental protocols.

  • Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in your field.

  • Set and meet experimental timelines.

  • Impact projects mostly through lab/ pilot-plant/ commercial based activities where applicable.

  • Learn, understand and master new experimental techniques, and act as a resource or mentor for others.

  • Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature. Contribute to writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents.

  • Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data.

  • Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Ideally PhD with 2 years’ experience or BS or equivalent education with typically 7 or more years of experience or MS or equivalent education with typically 5 or more years of experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn, understand and master new experimental techniques.

  • Ability to multitask and work within timelines.
