This vacancy is located at the Swanson Center for Youth facility in Monroe, Louisiana.

The incumbent will have full managerial responsibility over the social service program for Swanson Center for Youth in Monroe.

The incumbent must be a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work followed by five years of professional level social services experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Positions require possession of Licensure as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.

NOTE:

The master's degree in social work must be from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, 1701 Duke Street, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22314.

To provide the management component in program development and service delivery of a social work services program at a 24-hour facility.

LEVEL OF WORK:

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Broad review from a higher-level administrator.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Direct over licensed, master's degree-level social services staff and other employees in accordance with the allocation criteria memo.

Department of Health and Hospitals; LSU-Health Sciences Centers, Acute Care Hospitals, Medical Schools; Department of Public Safety and Corrections.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:

Differs from the Social Worker 6-A and 6-B by the presence of managerial responsibility for a multi-faceted social work component incorporating three or more supervisory units at a 24-hour facility.

Determines social work services program goals, objectives, and priorities; identifies policy and procedure issues in collaboration with management staff.

Provides line supervision on an ongoing basis to one or more managerial-level social services employees responsible for major departments or comprehensive social services components within the social service delivery system.

Assigns program-related projects to management staff and supervises work in progress, including administrative assignments made by agency director.

Maintains dialogue with multidisciplinary counterparts and program/administrative counterparts in local, regional, and statewide agencies for on-going review and evaluation, identification, and resolution of problems encountered in collaborative efforts.

Reviews cases with subordinate supervisors; assists and guides them in the teaching of advanced techniques and in developing skills in specialized intervention methodologies.

Reviews performance plans and evaluations of all social work services staff.

Assures that social work activities are conducted in accordance with acceptable standards of practice and in accordance with all applicable regulations and statutes.

Carries administrative responsibility as delegated by a facility administrator for ongoing specialized assignments such as the monitoring of policies and procedures to assure the protection of client's rights and the supervision of the investigation of alleged or suspected abuse, neglect, or other violations of such rights.

Directs and coordinates a complex in-service training program for the continuing development of skills in social service staff.

Develops, interprets, and implements policy and procedures for the agency.
