Responsibilities

Summary: The following details the expectations of a Printing Machine Inspector/Packer:

  • Operate printing machinery

SECOND SHIFT- MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 7:30am - 4:00pm

Must be flexible to work (1-2) alternating Saturdays per month, or when customer demand requires

Rate of Pay: starts at $18.50/hr, the Inspector/Packer role includes pay increases up to $20.46/hr after one(1) year of service, (this includes a 50 cent 2rd-Shift Differential)

$1000.00 Retention Bonus Program: $500 Retention Bonus after 90 days of service, $500 Rentention Bonus after 6 months of service

Potential to earn perfect attendance personal days (up to 3 a year)

Benefits for full time team members available the first of the month after 30 days of service

401K Eligibility and Match after 90 days of service

Paid Holidays (11), Paid Vacation and Unpaid Sick Time available for full time employees after 90 days of service

Teammembers receive bonuses two times a year, in June and December

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensuring My safety and the safety of my coworkers is a core belief and is my number one priority.

  • Visually check quality of print against approved sample (check if light or dark, check if off-center, check if faded or missing print, check molding parts for shorts, flash, strings, grease, etc.)

  • Load product into lid and cup printers

  • Perform tape test

  • Sort through start-up

  • Pack parts and verify count is correct

  • Stir and add ink

  • Clean blankets and plates

  • Start/stop printers

  • Clean color heads, rollers and fountains

  • Set up color heads for next print run

  • Assist printing technicians with plate changes

  • Check plates, inks, set-up and color standard against printer set up sheet

  • Clear unload and in-feed jams

  • Break printer inspector/packer for change over

  • Application of printed label to box

  • Maintain appropriate speed assigned each press

  • Help material handlers as needed

  • Follow all GMPs

  • Make sure all bags are completely inside box.

  • Any other duties assigned by supervisor or department manager

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.

At a minimum, the environment requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as: safety glasses, ear plugs, bump caps, beard/hair nets, and steel toed shoes. Additional PPE maybe needed for various tasks.

Organization Relationships:

  • Report directly to Print Lead for purposes of scheduling, performance evaluation, and compensation assessment

  • Indirectly reports to Department Manager for product requirements, quality requirements, and overall departmental goals

  • Visible participation in pre-shift meetings reiterating safety

  • Daily review 5Shousekeeping with focus on your areas; don’t settle

  • Daily conduct conversations with team members on safety

  • Respond to employee concerns with the respect that it deserves

  • Participate in EHS Framework scoring and improvement plans

  • Do not communicate mixed messages. Reiterate that nothing is as important as safety
