Oracle Consulting Member of Technical Staff in Montgomery, Alabama

Job Description

As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff (IC5) in our team, you’ll be responsible for, and lead efforts in, designing and building scalable, distributed, and resilient software components and services to support our health care platform and the users it serves especially focusing on the Database. We believe in ownership and expect you to think long term, mentor, and empower other engineers. As a technical leader on the team, you will own the complete software development lifecycle, from design, development, testing, first class monitoring, to production. You will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes.

Designing and developing highly scalable database components on Oracle Autonomous Database including deep proficiency in JDBC, JPA, data replication, GoldenGate, migrating from MS SQL server to ADB are required. Demonstrated understanding of cloud native architecture, JEE, JVM internals and experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is desired. Demonstrable troubleshooting skills and and performance tuning of Oracle ADB, GoldenGate among others.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for broad software design, code quality and architecture decisions

  • Lead and direct architecture discussions, design sessions and code reviews for functional correctness, architectural maintainability, and performance.

  • Develop long-term technical roadmap for solution area.

  • Code for high-risk projects that have solution dependencies within and outside current team.

  • Analyze, understand and develop complex architectures, design and associated sub-systems.

  • Ability to understand someone else’s complex code very quickly

  • Ability to multi-task and deal with changing priorities.

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders such as Development leads, Product Management, Operations, Release Management to make, adopt and communicate technical decisions and shape the development and delivery of software.

  • Experience in Public Cloud SaaS, PaaS Services and/or related technology experience, Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development experience

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
