Job Description: SDAC is seeking a Safety Director to Develop implement and execute the safety program for the company's Operations and Maintenance division. The Safety Director will oversee facility safety programs and document all safety concerns to the Corporate Vice President of EHS Must be willing to travel. Our ideal candidate should be action-oriented, assertive; a good communicator; willing to take the initiative to complete a task in an efficient, but safe manner; a problem solver; and have the drive to succeed with a high degree of integrity. This position is full-time with an attractive benefit package and company vehicle. This individual must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and execute safety policies and procedures for Operations and Maintenance (OandM) division.
Support Project Managers to ensure employees are trained and able to perform job duties safely.
Provide weekly safety talks to all management and present to all staff.
Keep project sites compliant with all State and Federal, and GSA regulations.
Follow all OSHA Standards.
Report all injury incidents to Corporate Vice President of EHS
Implement Hazcom program and develop an SDS management system
Provide Equipmenttasktraining to all employees.
Coordinate facility Specific training to all employees as well as vendors.
Visit job sites to evaluate and reinforce safety procedures.
Manage and maintain the Division's workers' compensation reporting and records.
Collaborate with Human Resources and the workers' compensation carrier.
The implementation of training for new hire orientation, equipment certification, and OSHA training
Perform other tasks as assigned Skills Needed: Efficient communication skills to work with supervisors, employees, site personnel, and office personnel Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Email Capable of using a laptop and smartphone Requirements:
BCSP CSP, ASP, or SMS
CPR/First Aid Certified (if currently do not have - must obtain within 30 days of employment)
Knowledge of operations and maintenance operations in large government buildings preferred
Minimum 5 Years Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
2-year or 4-year degree in a safety-related discipline preferred
Extensive travel
Bilingual highly preferred
Efficient communication skills to work with supervisors, employees, site personnel, and office personnel
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Email
Capable of using a laptop and smartphone
