National Institutes of Health Lead Medical Support Assistant in Montgomery County, Maryland

Summary The Patient Support Services Department is seeking a Lead Medical Support Assistant who has experience working in a health care setting with direct contact with patients. The ideal candidate has experience using electronic medical records and appointment scheduling systems, creating staffing schedules and assigning work to staff, is skilled at clearly communicating information verbally and in writing, and has customer service experience and the ability to anticipate and resolve problems. Responsibilities As a GS-0679-08 Lead Medical Support Assistant, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following: Distributing balanced workload to staff and ensuring work is completed according to established standards. Providing on-the-job training to new and existing employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Entering patient information in an electronic medical record and/or patient scheduling system. Monitoring work performance and the quality of work. Creating and modifying staffing schedules as needed. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications You qualify at the GS-08 level if you meet the following qualification requirement: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: using an electronic medical record system and electronic appointment scheduling system; creating and modifying staffing schedules and assigning work to staff in a health care setting; and communicating information clearly to patients, visitors, and staff verbally and in writing, requiring direct contact with patients.
