What will you do?

We require an experienced Commissioning Coordinator to join our team in our team. The Field Service Coordinator will work in an experienced team and exciting environment on next generation diesel locomotives. Our vehicles connect cities all over the World and we are working together with the customer on site to achieve the main goals for the warranty period. You will be mainly responsible for commissioning and troubleshooting, repairing and improving our vehicles to achieve high customer satisfaction and reliability. Being strong electrical and enjoying working full hands makes you successful in this position.

1. Commissioning Planning and Management:

  • Develop detailed technical testing plans for the project and create detailed test reports for system qualification during commissioning process.

  • Coordinate the scheduling of commissioning activities, including testing, inspection, and validation.

  • Develop an expert role in combining Locomotive and Coach commissioning into a trainset approach.

  • Planning, preparing, instrumenting and execution of tests as well as writing test reports.

  • Identify and drive the purchase of equipment and tooling required for commissioning.

  • Team Coordination and Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of commissioning engineers, technicians, and support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance management

  • Develop commissioning schedules and track progress against schedule

  • Develop and implement a training program for locomotive and coach commissioning.

  • Compliance and Safety

  • Ensure all tests are conducted according to predefined procedures and safety standards, and that any deviations are properly documented and addressed

What will you need to succeed?

  • post-secondary education or Technical Diploma in Electrical, mechanical, industrial or related field

  • minimum of 5 years of related experience

  • Must be proficient in reading and working with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical circuit diagrams to understand work performed.

  • Able to maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, the man and the client.

  • Good communication skills for contact with Technical Advisors, Material Management, and the customer.

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting and analysis of failures on locomotives or coaches.

  • Understand and be able to use mechanical drawings, schematics and location circuit plans, electrical and mechanical repairs of various components.

  • Be able to diagnose electrical malfunctions in locomotive circuits and components, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective action needed.

  • Read, interpret and understand written or electronic information to identify the Root cause of a failures and compile reports for warranty manager.

  • Must hold a valid Driver's license in good standing.

· Field Service or Operations experience in the railroad industry an asset
