Job Summary

Reporting to the Category Manager, Procurement and Supply Management(P&SM)of the locomotive’s category cluster, the Senior Procurement Specialist willsupportthe development, analysisand execution of innovativeprocurementstrategies that deliver sustainable enterprise value including achievement of cost reduction targets.The Senior Procurement Specialist will alsomonitorthe delivery of key contracts, capture of financial savings through negotiation of contract terms,conditionsand monitoring of supplier performance.

Inaddition,the Senior Category Analyst, Procurement and Supply Management will work with Category Manager to analyze and present data during the baseline,strategizeand deliver phases of the category management process, and develop sourcing project plan, prepare procurement processdocumentationand manage the event through to evaluation and final recommendation.

Main Responsibilities

ProcurementManagement

  • Interact with internal stakeholders, understand their

  • needsand promote valuecreation

  • Conduct data analyticsduringdifferent stagesof the sourcing process

  • Developthe procurementcategory strategyand supplier market knowledgeas it relates to locomotive partsandservices

  • Build and managethe RFx processevaluate supplier responses and prepare business casestosubmitfor managementapproval

  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers (commercialand legalclauses)

  • Leadcontracts, supplier relationships and supplier performance

  • Collaborate withBuyers to ensure all rates and agreements are appropriately administered in thePurchase to Pay(P2P)process (i.e.,System, Applications and Products (SAP), Ariba, Fieldglass,etc.)

  • Ensure that all internal requirements in terms of compliance to procurement policy are met andaddressed

  • Participate and support department-wide projects whenrequired

Working Conditions

This positionis located inMontreal, Quebec Headquartersand the reporting structure is to P&SM in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role requiresoccasionaltravelwithin North America and abroad.

Requirements

Experience

  • Procurement

  • Between 4 to 5 yearsofexperience in a similar role

Education/Certification/Designation

  • Bachelor’s D egree in Supply Chain Management , Business Admin istration , Engineering, Law , or equivalent

  • Extensive knowledge of contractual financial aspects such as NPV, TCO, CPI/PPI, etc.

  • Ability to drive innovative analysis to understand the market trends, cost drivers,suppliersand bestpractices

  • Strong technical skills related to data toolsandpresentationofdata

  • Knowledge ofstrategic sourcing best practices

  • Knowledge ofP2P

  • Knowledge ofsupplier performance principles

  • Knowledgeof Incoterms, Customs and documentationrequiredfordeliverywithinNorth Americaandinternationalimports

  • Knowledgeof commercial aspects of productandservice categories

  • Knowledge ofrail transportation or logistic industry*
