Position: Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

This position is responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and/or maintain all equipment in good operating condition as quickly and accurately as possible; while keeping associated costs to a minimum and meet plant goals. The Maintenance Technician is expected to be multi-skilled and able to contribute to plant maintenance activities in a variety of craft disciplines.

DUTIES:

  • Completes projects with minimal guidance showing a proactive attitude to design and installations.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical devices in operation. Dismantles and examines devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Sets up and operates shop machinery such as lathe, drill press, grinders, band saws, cutting torch, welder. etc. Uses hand tools and pneumatic tools to modify or repair parts and equipment.
  • Installs new or repairs/modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
  • Improves reliability and uptime of all equipment. Takes a proactive approach to equipment issues with a preventive maintenance mentality.
  • Operates forklift and hydraulic working platform as needed.
  • Researches supplies, parts and machines needed to complete work orders.
  • Assists in organizing and maintaining an accurate inventory of parts.
  • Contributes to upkeep and updating of required paperwork such as records, maintenance logs, documents, manuals, drawings, PM logs, etc.
  • Performs and documents work orders and preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Supports the vision, mission and guiding principles of the company.
  • Follows applicable Safety, Health and Environmental rules and guidelines while performing job duties.
  • Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience
  • Technical School degree or experience equivalency
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in process improvement and problem solving techniques.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in PLC troubleshooting and repair.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and industrial operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Self-motivated with strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Time management skills, quantitative and statistical skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to read/comprehend written and oral instructions in English; read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and product recipes/material identifications.
  • Must have mathematical skill to add, subtract, multiply and divide and the ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations.
  • Must have manual dexterity sufficient to operate a wide variety of small hand tools, scales, hand trucks, fork lift, utility knife, and mixer/secondary machinery and computer equipment.
  • Demonstrate ability to rapidly learn the operation and set up of industrial machinery per operating procedures while following all training and plant procedures.

WAGE: $30.00/ Hourly

SHIFT: Full-time - 40 hours per week

JOBSITE: Montrose, CO
