Job Title: Groundskeeper
Job Summary/Basic Function The primary responsibility of this position is to maintain the campus grounds in a neat, orderly, and attractive condition by providing proper care and maintenance of all outdoor areas. Key duties include:
- Turf care and mowing
- Landscaping and plant care
- Snow removal and de-icing
- Operation of equipment (e.g., mowers, tractors, snowblowers)
- Tree trimming and pruning
- Maintenance of irrigation systems
- General grounds clean-up
Minimum Qualifications
- Prior groundskeeping experience or demonstrated knowledge in horticulture.
- Ability to operate various types of equipment used in grounds maintenance (e.g., mowers, tractors, or equipment used in landscaping or farming).
- Valid drivers license and insurable driving record.
- Ability to obtain a medical card for equipment operation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of horticulture, including plant care and landscaping techniques.
- Experience in snow removal, in addition to prior groundskeeping or horticultural experience.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems.
Please note: Candidates with only snow removal experience will not be considered for this role. Prior work in a grounds-related field or horticulture is essential.
