DS GROUP INCORPORATED Fabricator- Assembler- Shop Assistant in Moreno Valley, California
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves cutting, fabricating, and assembling metal components to construct machinery according to detailed blueprints. Welding experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Metal Cutting: Use cutting tools and machinery to accurately cut metal pieces to specified dimensions based on blueprints and technical drawings.
Fabrication: Carry out metal fabrication tasks including bending, shaping, and machining to produce components that meet design specifications.
Assembly: Assemble metal parts and other components into complete machines or structures, ensuring correct fit and function as outlined in the blueprints.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret and follow blueprints and technical drawings to guide the fabrication and assembly processes.
Welding (Optional): Perform welding tasks as needed, including MIG, TIG, or arc welding, to join metal parts. Welding experience is a plus but not required.
Quality Control: Inspect and measure completed parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, clean, and care for fabrication tools and machinery. Report any malfunctions or issues to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to specification.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in metal cutting, fabrication, or assembly is preferred. Welding experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with metalworking tools and machinery, with a basic understanding of welding techniques being advantageous.
Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and performing physically demanding tasks.
Communication: Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification or vocational training in metalworking or a related field is a plus.
