Keylogic Systems Inc Senior Critical Minerals and Materials Engineer/Scientist in Morgantown, West Virginia

KeyLogic Systems has an immediate need for a Senior Critical Minerals and Materials Engineer/Scientist. The position can be remote or hybrid- based out of Pittsburgh, PA). The Engineer/Scientist will support our federal client, the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), in the area of critical minerals and materials (CMM). The NETL CMM Program focuses on extraction and processing technologies for the production of critical minerals and materials that include rare earth elements from secondary and unconventional resources to support an economical, environmentally benign, and geographically sustainable U.S. domestic supply chain. The Engineer/Scientist will provide technical and coordination support for the conceptualization, formulation, implementation, and management of activities within NETL's CMM Program. Work includes providing support to Department of Energy (DOE) funded projects, responding to program questions regarding mineral processing and preparing and reviewing potential funding opportunity announcements for the CMM program. This includes creating and reviewing technical documents and reports, conference presentation materials, and public-facing informational brochures related to NETL's efforts to accelerate the characterization and extraction of unconventional domestic CMM resources. The position will work with diverse project teams to advance DOE's mission of securing domestic CMM supply chains. Position Requirements: U.S. Citizenship Bachelor's Degree (in Metallurgical, Mining, or Mechanical Engineering but will consider other science areas). Advanced degree is preferred. 5+ years of professional experience including plant operations and process design. Demonstrated proficiency in minerals processing technologies including conventional and advanced extraction, separation, recovery, and purification processes related to critical minerals production. In-depth knowledge of critical minerals and materials, including rare earth elements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to deal with clients and colleagues on a daily basis. Excellent writing and research skills are essential. Must be result oriented and able to work on multiple assignments/projects in a fast-paced deadline-oriented work environment. Position Responsibilities: Provide technical and coordination support to NETL program planning, implementation, and outreach activities. Review proposed projects for processing budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Monitor ongoing and future research and development related to critical minerals and materials. Prepare technical reports and papers. Conduct comprehensive study and evaluation relating to critical minerals and materials. Provide technical support during industry meetings, conferences, workshops, and collaborative sessions with project partners (domestic and international).
