Job Title: Food Scientist
Job Description
The Food Scientist will provide technical leadership and support to various departments, working hands-on with cross-functional teams to develop new products, improve existing ones, and drive cost-saving initiatives. They will act as the technical liaison to manufacturing facilities to ensure product quality and food safety during commercialization, with potential travel for product trials and start-ups.
Hard Skills
Bachelors Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 3 years R&D experience in food industry
Project management experience for product development in food industry
Knowledge of non-GMO project, gluten-free and vegan compliance
Follow GMP protocol
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
High level of mental reasoning and analytical skills
Good palate for smell and taste acuity
Job Type
This is a contract position with a duration of 6 Month(s).
Work Site
This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Parsippany, New Jersey and some days remote.
Work Environment
Lab Work and Prototyping: Conduct testing and create benchtop prototypes for various R&D projects, requiring a good palate for smell and taste acuity.
Physical and Travel Requirements: Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs and travel up to 20% of the time.
