Actalent Construction Project Manager in Morrisville, North Carolina

As a Sr. Construction Project Manager, you'll have the opportunity to work throughout the Southeast leading construction projects to successful completion—safely, on time, and on budget.
To excel in this role, you'll need a strong construction background , an uncompromising commitment to safety and quality, and a focus on client engagement. You'll work with the Project Director and/or Senior Project Manager as you guide our engineering, construction management, and superintendent teams to achieve project goals. You’ll maintain preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans; project scopes of work; budgets; and schedules. In coordination with accounting, you'll manage vendor and subcontractor invoicing and client billing. We’ll rely on you to monitor project costs and field conditions and ensure changes are fully reflected in cost reports.
You’ll also monitor design content and coordinate design revisions for constructability and compliance. Collaboration is key, as you’ll coordinate the construction schedule with design, commissioning, and qualification schedule requirements. If project risks are identified, you’ll work to mitigate those in partnership with senior leadership.
As a champion of our safety culture, you'll be responsible for leading the established site safety program in your area and monitoring performance with CMs and Superintendents on site. You’ll regularly interact with the client, listening and ensuring that their needs are met with a focus on the Actalent client experience. You’ll build strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients as you develop solutions, all while building life-impacting facilities.
Position Responsibilities
Develop a working knowledge of prime contract requirements and apply knowledge to project activities.
Support the Project Manager in the development and maintenance of preconstruction/construction, and closeout execution plans.
Corroborate with the Project Manager to facilitate communication between project participants.
Assist the Project Managers/Directors in the preparation of proposals, presentations, and other documents.
Support the Project Manager in the procurement and coordination of all required project resources, including intra-divisional, interdivisional, and extra corporate.
Pursue scheduling information from subcontractors, vendors, and/or design professionals.
Develop a working knowledge of the project budget and identify exposures to the project budget throughout the execution of the project.
Assist the Project Manager in the management change control systems and policies.
Develop a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction and support quality assurance for the project.
Monitor design content, and quality and coordinate design revisions for constructability and compliance with basic documents, schedules, and budgets.
Review all shop drawings/submittals.
Ensure project documents are distributed, reviewed, and stored to meet project and corporate requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
10-15+ years of experience in project delivery or a related discipline.
Experience managing construction for multi-million-dollar projects.
OSHA 30 or ability to obtain and maintain.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
Manufacturing/Industrial experience.
Experience in the construction of pharmaceutical, bio-tech, and/or life science facilities.
Ability to communicate effectively with teams and clients, team building, and strong work ethic.
