Description and Requirements

Lenovo seeks a dynamic and strategic sales leader to join our team as the Director of North America SMB Business Development. Reporting to the General Manager of NA SMB, this is a growth-oriented role responsible for driving the activation of new or nascent opportunities central to accelerating revenue and market share gains. The Director will lead a high-performance team that drives new SMB opportunities for all Lenovo products with an omnichannel go to market plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute growth strategies to expand Lenovo's footprint in the SMB segment across North America. Drive the activation of new opportunities through various channels, including online and offline retail, solution providers, and other routes to market.

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of senior managers. Foster a high-performance culture focused on achieving revenue, profit, and customer acquisition goals. Scale the team's remit as necessary to meet business objectives.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including channel sales, consumer sales, e-commerce, product management, marketing, and sales operations. Ensure alignment and collaboration to deliver a seamless omnichannel experience for our customers and channel partners.

  • Market Engagement: Engage with key retail and e-tail customers, channel partners, and executives at small and mid-sized businesses. Represent Lenovo in external engagements, including potential limited interactions with the press, to elevate the Lenovo brand with key audiences.

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize a data-driven approach to track and measure success. Implement frameworks to monitor revenue growth, account acquisition, and pipeline development. Provide regular feedback to senior leadership on progress and opportunities.

  • Innovative Sales Strategies: Develop and activate new sales strategies to penetrate untapped markets. Leverage your experience in reseller channels, retail (online and offline), and SMB sectors to create profitable opportunities and expand Lenovo's market share.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years relevant experience

  • 5+ years people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a strategic sales leader with a track record of driving growth in new markets.

  • Expertise in managing and scaling teams, focusing on coaching and removing obstacles for team success.

  • Strong understanding of reseller channels, retail environments (both online and offline), and the SMB landscape in the US and Canada.

  • Excellent collaboration skills with experience working in a highly matrixed organization.

  • Ability to develop and implement data-driven sales strategies that align with organizational goals.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and a passion for driving change in a dynamic environment.
